Jazz Cuffee “Nude”

by Jazz Cuffee

If I could shed this skin
I would adorn my shoulder blades
With broken glass and tempered steel

Weave my flesh

Between the spaces of my ribcage
So everyone can see

Tie myself into a beautiful knot
Of hips and pelvis
Femur and knee

Walk brilliantly nude
Remove the talus and fifth metatarsal
Of the left foot to see how far I get

Chart my journey
By the length of my right arm
Directed by the ridges of the chest cavity

Keep the blood
And shred the muscle
I want you to see me

Unraveled and unbroken
Willed – strong and strapping
